Thirsty Thursday – Chocolate Espresso Martini

Lets face it, when we think of Easter, we think of Chocolate.

Easter Eggs fill the supermarket shelves and Easter Egg hunts are being planned as we speak.  That satisfying ‘snap’ of breaking open a chocolate egg is the stuff of dreams but sometimes we can get too much of a good thing. So what to do with all that excess egg chocolate? How about using it as the base for a decadent Chocolate Espresso Martini? Admittedly, this tastes best using dark chocolate but why not try and mix it up a bit with all that leftover Easter Chocolate (yeah right) before Lent begins


100g Chocolate (Preferably 70% Dark)

1 tbsp. Double Cream

35ml shot Espresso

50ml Vanilia Vodka


Melt the chocolate (using a microwave or bain-marie). Once melted stir in the cream. Add a shot of coffee and the vodka.

Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes, then pour into a cocktail shaker over cubed ice.

Shake, strain into a martini glass.
