Thirsty Thursday – Burns Night

written by HA

Once again Burns Night is around the corner, we feel so proud and lucky at Hel’s Angels to be involved in this historical celebration with Glenfiddich the emblematic Scottish brand on a series of exclusive events around the country.

On this occasion to commemorate the heritage of Scotland’s native drink that Robert himself described it as a source of inspiration:

‘O thou, my Muse! guid auld Scotch drink!
Whether thro’ wimplin’ [twisting] worms thou jink
Or, richly brown, ream [foam] owre the brink
In glorious faem
Inspire me, till I lisp an’ wink
To sing thy name!’

There are many different ways to drink whisky, so whether you like to sip it neat, with water, ice or in a cocktail

here is one of our favourite ways.. The Rob Roy:

The Rob Roy

Much like a Manhattan, but made with Scotch instead of bourbon the Rob Roy also with its name reminds the instigator of Burns Night.

Add 60ml of Scotch whisky – We recommend having it with Glenfiddich 12YO

30ml Sweet Vermouth

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Garnish: Maraschino Cherry

Stir all the ingredients with ice and strain it into a chilled glass.

For any of your whisky needs contact Hel’s Angels & enjoy your Burns Night!
